How do I enroll my child in Basic Concepts Summer Program?
Please call to discuss your child's strengths and weaknesses to determine if our program  would be beneficial this summer.  Most  classroom placements and eligibility can be determined by a phone discusison along with providing us with recent progress reports, evaluations, and/or IEP's.  At times a screening may be needed to determine eligibility and appropriate class placement for your child.  Screenings are informal and typically last approximately 30 minutes. The screening fee is $100.00.

Does my child need to be potty trained for the 3-5 year old classes?
No. The staff at Basic Concepts will work with you and your child to determine if your child is ready for potty training. If your child is ready to begin potty training our staff will help you establish an appropriate schedule and assist your child during our program. If your child is not ready to begin potty training, it is your responsibility to provide the classroom staff with diapers, wipes, and extra clothing. Children age 6+ must be use the bathroom independently. 

Does Basic Concepts accept health insurance? Will my insurance cover the Summer program?
Basic Concepts does not currently accept any health insurance programs. The full payment is due the first day of our program. Some insurance companies will reimburse for intensive speech therapy services. This is typically one hour per day of direct speech therapy. Please contact your insurance company to inquire about reimbursement. Basic Concepts will provide you with an itemized bill to submit to your insurance company. We can also provide you an invoice for your FHA/FSP.

Does Basic Concepts Summer Program offer before or after care?
Yes, Basic Concepts Summer Programs do offer before care, starting at 8am.  We do not have after care hours.

Does Basic Concepts Summer Program provide transportation?
No. Basic Concepts Summer Program does not provide transportation.

How does Basic Concepts determine the most appropriate class for my child?
Proper class placement is based on a number of criteria including your child’s age, goals, and abilities. Our staff will determine the most appropriate class during the informal screening.

Can we attend Basic Concepts Summer Program for only 2-3 days a week instead of 5?
Our Summer program is designed to help your child meet his/her summer goals based on full time attendance. Therefore, enrollment is first open to students who can attend 5 days a week for the full session.  If space is available, we open enrollment to students who wish to attend 2-3 days a week.

Can we visit the facility before Basic Concepts Summer Program begins?
No. Unfortunately, Basic Concepts does not gain access to the building until 1-2 days prior to the first day of our program. During this time, we are busy setting up the classrooms and training our staff. You are welcome to drive by the facility or view the playground area before our Summer program begins. Please respect the safety rules and staff at St. Elizabeth’s School and do not try to enter the building
